About The Role

The Operations Analyst is the “Finance Business Partner” for the Southern Alberta Market. The role is responsible for coordinating and preparing accurate monthly reports, forecasts, progress performance plan, budgets, capital and other financial information. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and works to improve understanding of key business drivers and maximize results within the market.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Health and Safety: Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments, and maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Work with Controller and Finance Director to perform month end close, prepare monthly cost allocation entries, accrual entries, prepaid amortization entries, and assist in cost, sales, labor analysis, and P&L review.
  • Monthly & Internal Reporting: Assist in monthly financial reports to SAB management and Country Finance, reconcile asset and liability accounts for both plants, and develop internal reports for Managers and Operations.
  • Forecast and Budgets: Create weekly forecast and re-forecast files, coordinate with General Managers and Controllers for submissions, create budget templates, compile annual budgets, and perform variance analysis.
  • Mobile Fleet & Maintenance Reporting: Create fleet maintenance reports, analyze fleet maintenance costs and variances, and prepare fleet cost and maintenance schedules.
  • Audits & Internal Control: Coordinate and respond to audit inquiries, oversee adherence to internal control policies and GRC reporting, manage DocuSign preparation and tracking, and maintain financial and accounting controls.
  • Training and Standardization: Provide financial training in the SAB Market to increase financial understanding of non-financial personnel and work with the finance team to drive standardization across segments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with Service Centers to achieve Finance objectives, support process improvements, and act as a change agent for process and system enhancements.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business

Required Work Experience: 2+ years of financial management experience with increasing responsibility and complex roles

Required Training/Certifications: Eligible and/or enrolled in the CPA PREP program

Required Technical Skills: Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP, BPC)

Travel Requirements: 10%

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
