Company:

Cyberspatial is a cutting-edge technology company dedicated to supporting the Department of Defense in achieving full network visibility and cyber resilience for mission-critical systems. Teleseer empowers DoD cyber teams to see every layer of their network in real-time, enabling rapid threat detection, forensics, and alerting; providing unmatched situational awareness. Our solutions transform raw network traffic into actionable intelligence, providing a unified view of complex and disjointed network environments to strengthen defenders response times to cyber events.

Role:

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to serve as the primary technical leader and point of contact for supporting the United States Space Force with Cyberspatial's Teleseer platform. This role is pivotal in designing and integrating Teleseer's architecture across the United States Space Force.

Responsibilities:

Solution Design and Architecture:

  • Serve as the primary responsible point of contact for the United States Space Force.
  • Collaborate with Cyberspatial's software development team to coordinate further research and development and delivery of customer requirements.
  • Define the overall structure and architecture of Teleseer into the customer environment, ensuring they meet business and technical requirements.
  • Develop high-level design artifacts, such as architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and integration points, to provide clear guidance for development teams.
  • Track and advise on the latest advancements in cloud technologies, security defenses, remote management, and infrastructure automation for each customer-integrated solution. Balance functionality, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of infrastructure security, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations planning.

Technical Leadership:

  • Serve as the primary technical authority on projects, making key architectural decisions and resolving technical challenges.
  • Mentor and guide junior architects, engineers, and developers, ensuring alignment with the overall design and best practices.
  • Provide hands-on support when necessary, especially in complex areas of implementation.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including program managers, project managers, and end-users to understand and translate customer requirements into technical specifications.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer’s technical stakeholders and our internal engineering team, ensuring clarity in communication and expectations.
  • Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss progress, address concerns, and adjust the solution as needed.

Integration and Interoperability:

  • Ensure the solution integrates smoothly with existing systems and infrastructure, considering aspects like data flow, security, and API interactions.
  • Design for interoperability, especially in environments involving multiple vendors, legacy systems, or hybrid (cloud and on-premise) setups.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

  • Identify potential technical risks early in the design and planning phase and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Design solutions with redundancy, resilience, and scalability in mind to ensure high availability and fault tolerance.

Performance and Optimization:

  • Ensure the architecture is optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability, especially in high-demand and mission-critical environments.
  • Continuously assess and refine the solution during the project lifecycle to address performance bottlenecks or scalability issues as they arise.

Documentation and Standards:

  • Create detailed architecture and design documentation to serve as a reference for the engineering team and future maintenance.
  • Establish and enforce technical standards, best practices, and guidelines to maintain consistency and quality across implementations.

Security and Compliance:

  • Embed security best practices into the architecture from the outset, addressing requirements such as data encryption, identity management, and access control.
  • Ensure that the solution complies with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) as applicable.

Quality Assurance and Testing Strategy:

  • Work with QA teams to develop a comprehensive testing strategy that covers unit, integration, performance, and security testing.
  • Review test plans and results to ensure the solution meets quality standards before deployment.

Cost Management:

  • Design the solution with cost efficiency in mind, especially for cloud-based or resource-intensive deployments.
  • Work with the program manager and business stakeholders to manage the project budget, optimizing resource usage without compromising on quality.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Gather feedback after deployment to assess the solution’s effectiveness and identify areas for future improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and new methodologies to continuously enhance the architecture and bring innovation to solutions.

Project Lifestyle:

Pre-Sales and Proposal Phase:

  • Engage in pre-sales activities to help craft and present solutions to potential clients, often working with sales and business development teams.
  • Prepare technical proposals and presentations that outline the solution architecture, expected benefits, and feasibility.

Discovery and Planning Phase

  • Participate in discovery sessions with stakeholders to understand business requirements, technical limitations, and constraints.
  • Create high-level architecture and roadmap documents, outlining the vision and key milestones of the solution.

Implementation Phase:

  • Oversee the engineering and development teams to ensure that the solution is implemented according to the approved architecture.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support as needed, especially for complex or high-impact issues.

Deployment and Post-Deployment:

  • Support the deployment of the solution into production, coordinating with deployment engineers and operations teams.
  • Conduct post-deployment reviews and work with the team to address any performance, security, or usability issues.
