Network and Security Engineer – Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Network and Security Engineer to join our IT department in Zaventem. In this permanent role, you will play a key part in the implementation, administration, and security of both on-premise and cloud infrastructures. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies and will actively support, troubleshoot, and optimize our infrastructure in close collaboration with the IT Manager and support teams.

Network and Security Engineer – Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems:

• Implement, administer, and maintain Hyper-V environments (Windows Server 2019).
• Manage Microsoft Windows Server 2019 & 2022:
• Active Directory (AD)
• Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
• DNS
• DHCP
• Administer Azure Cloud environments (IaaS, Azure Files) and lead cloud migration and administration tasks.
• Manage Microsoft 365 and Kyocera Cloud Printing solutions.

Networking & Security:

• Maintain and optimize FortiGate Firewall Clusters:
• Firewall access rules
• SSL VPN access
• Threat Detection & Response (TDR)
• Administer and support SD-WAN solutions (Silver-Peak).
• Configure and support Cisco Catalyst & Meraki WiFi infrastructure.
• Oversee IP Telephony (Cisco Unified CM, Cisco Jabber) across multi-domain ADLDS environments.
• Use PRTG to monitor network performance and uptime.
• Perform cybersecurity analysis, vulnerability assessment, and troubleshooting of security incidents.

IT Service Management & Support:

• Administer ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus and Endpoint Central tools.
• Provide technical guidance and escalation support to 1st and 2nd line support engineers.
• Work closely with the IT Manager to lead infrastructure and security upgrade projects.

Network and Security Engineer – Profile Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network and Security Engineer or similar role.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows Server, Azure, and network/firewall infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience in Azure Cloud migration and administration.
• Familiarity with ManageEngine, FortiGate, Cisco networking, and VoIP solutions.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and tools.
• Ability to lead projects and work cross-functionally with other teams.
• Fluent in English; French or Dutch is a plus.
