Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and ITIL-certified NOC Engineer to join our Network Operations Center. This role is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting critical network and infrastructure systems, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of IT services. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, excellent incident management skills, and a strong commitment to service excellence.
As a senior NOC engineer, you will act as a key escalation point, lead incident triage efforts, and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes in alignment with ITIL best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor IT infrastructure, networks, and systems using industry-standard tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Zabbix, Nagios, Splunk).
- Respond to and resolve high-priority incidents, alerts, and outages in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform root cause analysis, impact assessments, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (network, systems, security, applications) to ensure incident resolution and performance optimization.
- Document incident details, resolution steps, and follow-up actions in service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Adhere to ITIL-aligned processes for Incident, Problem, Change, and Event Management.
- Maintain operational runbooks, SOPs, and documentation for troubleshooting and escalation procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support 24x7 operations where required.
- Contribute to continual service improvement (CSI) initiatives and operational efficiency projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 4-6 years of experience in a NOC or IT infrastructure monitoring/support role.
- Proven experience with monitoring tools, network protocols, server environments, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Strong understanding of ITIL practices, especially Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
- Experience with enterprise networking (LAN/WAN), VPN, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and system health monitoring.
- Familiarity with cloud and hybrid infrastructure monitoring (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
Certifications Required:
- ITIL Foundation Certification (v3 or v4) – Mandatory
Preferred Certifications (optional):
- CCNA / CCNP
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- CompTIA Network+ / Server+
- VMware or Linux system administration certifications
