Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer in Washington, DC. Duties Include: * Build and maintain the day-day operation of the TFIN computer network; Maintain hardware and software * Assist in disaster recovery operations; Protect data, software, and hardware from attacks * Replace faulty network hardware components; Work closely with customers to identify potential issues and fix existing problems * Design, configure, and test networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software; Review network designs and configurations to ensure consistency with architecture * Implement, administer, and troubleshoot CISCO network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers; Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems * Monitor and optimize network performance * Coordinate computer network access and use * Replace faulty network hardware components * Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures * Confer with customers and users and solve existing system issues * Implement network and operating System Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to secure all aspects of the network * Assist in providing IATT and ATO packages; Conduct research and testing on the state-of-the-art network information technologies * Participate in customer briefings and design reviews * Create, update, and maintain system level baseline documentation to include block diagrams, Simple Network Diagrams (SND), Detailed Network Diagrams (DND), and router & switch configuration Templates* Experience in supporting network operations with a federal government agency * Demonstrated knowledge of CISCO network devices * Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information Desired Skills: * College degree in Network Operations and Security * CCNP, CCNA, Security+, Net+
