Your Impact
* Design mechanical piping and equipment for renewable and fossil power generation facilities
* Prepare mechanical equipment and packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid evaluations
* Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings and data. Interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, and detailers/designers.
* Ensure effective communications with other engineering disciplines.
* Prepare construction/installation scopes of work for mechanical systems.
* Participate in the development of PFD's and P&ID's
* Perform piping design activities including sizing, pressure drop calculations, stress analysis, and pipe support design.
* Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
* Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
* 3+ years of experience in mechanical design for industrial facilities
* Engineer in Training Certification
* Working knowledge of Microstation or Auto CAD
* Working knowledge of Smart Plant 3D or CADworx
* Experience using Caesar II or AutoPipe
* Experience using Thermoflow
* Must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
* Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
* Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
* Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
* Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's Degree in Engineering.
* Essential Professional Licensure/Certification
* Power plant design experience
* Renewable natural gas plant design experience
