Construction Quality Control Manager to support energy retrofit and infrastructure modernization projects in the Washington, DC area. This role is critical to ensuring exceptional execution and compliance across energy performance projects involving HVAC, lighting, controls, and other high-efficiency MEP systems. Candidate will initially support a project in South Carolina, then move to the DC area for long term projects there.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project-specific Quality Control (QC) plans and inspection procedures.
- Conduct daily site walkthroughs to verify work aligns with specifications, contract documents, and code requirements.
- Coordinate Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) installations, testing, and documentation.
- Oversee field testing, QA/QC inspections, and third-party evaluations to ensure system performance.
- Monitor material deliveries for compliance with approved submittals.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and field teams to resolve issues and enforce standards.
- Manage and maintain QC logs, daily field reports, and inspection summaries.
- Review and assist with material submittals and approvals.
- Ensure adherence to commissioning protocols, measurement & verification plans, and O&M procedures.
- Support client interaction and maintain project documentation for audit readiness.
- Supervise site superintendents and subcontractor performance across trades.
- Assist with scheduling, estimating, and bid document support.
- Contribute to design-build development phases including audits and scope preparation.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in field engineering, quality control, or project execution.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction quality management and field coordination.
- Broad knowledge of building systems: mechanical, electrical, HVAC, controls, lighting.
- strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and codes.
- Collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with federal and military base construction protocols (preferred).
- Completion of USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) course (preferred).
Bonus Skills
- Experience with performance contracting or energy efficiency retrofits.
- OSHA-30 certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore).
- Background in MEP system troubleshooting and commissioning support.
