• Suppliers Here are the prequalifying questions /answers.
• How did you qualify the mold? What steps did you take?
  
  

Answer should be somewhere along the lines of: viscosity study, ran a DOE (design of experiments), gate freeze study

• What is flash?
  
  

Answer: Flash is a thin layer of excess plastic that flows outside of the mold\'s cavity and into the parting line, the space between the two mold halves.

• How do you eliminate flash?
• Reduce pack/hold pressure. Use a press with higher clamp force. Reduce clamp tonnage.
• Welding on tool if it’s worn out.

• Obviously do not share the answers with the candidates and I want answers that are expanded so we can see their knowledge Terri
• Mechanical Engineering is responsible for designing and developing components, mechanisms, systems and finished products or equipment.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and its application in solving moderately-complex mechanical problems.
• Demonstrates advanced understanding of internal and external customer or business needs.
• Works independently to create design of multiple components, systems or devices.
  
  

Experience Required

• Must haves:
• Resumes have a lot of focus on part design experience but I need mold
• qualification experience at least 5 years - IQ, OQ, PQ.
• Tool design
• KEY WORD IS HANDS ON EXPERIENCE
• 1-2 days on site required
• Molding Validation Not looking for the molding to be sent out
• Must have a solid understanding of Parameters and setting
• Tooling experience is needed to make the mold No PM experience required .
• Do not turn any candidates away because of the rate Mgr will provide prequalifying questions to be submitted with resumes.
• Local candidates to San Diego, as they will go onsite 1-2x per week at some point*** OR willing to relocate at their own expense. Please note all this on submittal.
