Mechanical & Plumbing Estimator
Dover, NH
Yearly Salary: $60,000-$100,000
Responsibilities:
Review and analyze blueprints and other Construction Documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates
Contact supplier, vendors, & manufacturers to identify material and equipment pricing to support the estimates
Evaluate material, equipment, and subcontractor quotes to ensure alignment with project scope and Specifications
Collaborate with clients, contractors and internal teams to gather necessary project information, identity potential risks, and resolve estimation discrepancies
Prepare detailed estimates particularly for plumbing and Mechanical/HVAC systems utilizing estimating software
Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality
Develop accurate, detailed proposals that clearly reflect the intended scope of work and submit proposals in a timely manner
Maintain and update cost databases, ensuring current market rates and historical data are reflected is,n future estimates
Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy meetings and post construction meetings as requested
Requirements
Experience in estimation including private (Commercial/Industrial Buildings, Hospitals, Universities, Manufacturing Plants, etc.), NAVFAC, GSA, and State funded projects
Experience in commercial/industrial plumbing and Mechanical/HVAC systems
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints front-end, and technical specifications
Proficiency in cost estimation software such as Trimble or similar, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project
Proven track record of developing accurate estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems
Strong understanding of Mechanical/HVAC systems, plumbing components, and installation practices
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with a strong eye for detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, suppliers, and clients
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
This position requires strong negotiating and organizational skills, the ability to perform detailed work in a timely manner, and follow up on open proposals
