Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for mechanical construction projects, ensuring that all costs are accounted for and that we remain competitive in bids. This role requires a deep understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical specifications, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and required materials.
- Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical installations, including HVAC, piping, and other mechanical systems.
- Conduct take-offs from drawings to quantify materials and labor needed for projects.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop proposals for bids and RFPs.
- Stay up-to-date with NFPA codes and industry standards to ensure compliance in all estimates.
- Assist in the bidding process by preparing comprehensive bid packages and responding to RFQs.
- Analyze and compare vendor quotes and pricing to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and project documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical construction processes.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Quick Pen or similar.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards relevant to mechanical installations.
