Mechanical Estimator

Job Location: Weymouth, MA

Job Salary: $120-150k+ (Potential for higher salary based on experience and background)

Position Overview

The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs for mechanical systems, including HVAC and refrigeration. This role involves preparing detailed estimates, managing budgets, and communicating effectively with clients to ensure project specifications are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical projects including HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Conduct take-offs from project plans and specifications to derive material and labor costs.
• Utilize estimation software such as Trimble to enhance accuracy and efficiency of estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project scope and specifications.
• Engage in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
• Prepare budgets and financial reports for management review.
• Maintain strong communication with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project status.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as a mechanical estimator, preferably in HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Strong skills in estimation software, particularly Trimble.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing project budgets.
• Knowledge of retrofit projects and their specific requirements.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
