Summary

Job Position: Mechanical Engineer

Department: Engineering & Design Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat Reporting To: Engineering Manager / Deputy Plant Head Experience Required: 5–8 Years Industry: Metal Fabrication, Scaffolding, Formwork, Precast Systems, Industrial Products Role Summary: The Mechanical Engineer & Its Associate’s will be responsible for product engineering, technical support, and production coordination across projects involving customized metal products, formwork systems, scaffolding, and industrial access solutions. This includes supporting design-to-manufacturing processes, evaluating mechanical performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and functionality in every product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Design & Development
  • Interpret and modify 2D/3D CAD drawings (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for custom fabrication, ladders, formwork,

and scaffolding products.

  • Assist in the development of products like:
  • Anti-skid decking panels
  • ISO tank access systems
  • Modular formwork solutions (e.g., Allforte)
  • Participate in prototype design, assembly planning, and validation.
  • Production Support
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure manufacturability of new and existing designs.
  • Create and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for each product.
  • Provide technical input during fabrication processes such as CNC bending, welding, and punching.
  • Technical Documentation
  • Prepare SOPs, assembly manuals, product data sheets, and test protocols.
  • Ensure engineering documentation is updated and archived as per ISO norms.
  • Quality & Compliance
  • Support quality inspection of components during in-process and final stages.
  • Perform FMEA and participate in root cause analysis for failures.
  • Ensure all designs comply with ISO, EN, and other industry-specific standards.
  • R&D Collaboration
  • Support the R&D team in enhancing current product offerings.
  • Suggest design improvements for cost-saving and better performance.

KPI Target Design Accuracy & Compliance ≥ 98% approval without rework BOM & Drawing Release Timeliness 100% as per schedule Cost-Effective Design Proposals Minimum 2–3 proposals/quarter Engineering Change Response Time < 24–48 hours First-Time Pass Rate for Prototypes ≥ 90%

Education

Qualifications & Skills:

  • B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

Technical Skills

  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD software
  • Knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication processes
  • Familiarity with material standards (steel grades, aluminium, galvanized steel)
  • Basic FEA or structural analysis understanding is a plus

Soft Skills

  • Detail-oriented and solution-driven
  • Strong communication for coordination across departments
  • Time management and task prioritization
