Precis is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Ambler, PA office. This individual must have a background in Mechanical/HVAC Engineering and a basic understanding of engineering practice within highly regulated industries. We are looking for a resourceful and goal-oriented individual who desires challenging work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering services to assist with the design of complete mechanical/HVAC systems supporting facility expansions, renovations, remediation, and new construction projects from concept through detailed design and construction.
• Receive instruction on specific objectives, direction on unconventional and/or complex problems with possible solutions, and a thorough review of completed work for application of sound professional judgement.
• Gather information and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform standard engineering calculations, analysis, and other design functions.
• Independently prepare complete drawings and portions of other project documents for mechanical/HVAC systems, including equipment, ductwork, piping, building automation, and related building components.
• Assign basic design tasks to interns, co-ops, and entry-level staff. Provide training, mentorship, and general review of their work.
• Interact with equipment vendors and other project team members to coordinate deliverables.
• Periodically visit project sites to survey existing conditions and observe construction activities.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
• Minimum 1-4 years industry engineering experience
• Strong computer literacy with advanced knowledge and use of Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, AutoCAD, and Revit
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards and guidelines
• Experience with critical environments and related building systems is a plus
• FE Exam / EIT certification is preferred
