Primary Function of Position:

• Implementing and supporting disaster mitigation/recovery strategy.
• Helping plan backup/recovery strategy for all database servers.
• Maintaining multiple production, development and QA SQL Server environments.
• Providing production support. Creating models for new SQL database development and/or changes to existing ones.
• Installing and configuring relevant components to ensure secure database access as well as database consistency and integrity.
• Responding to and resolving SQL database access and performance issues.
• Monitoring database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Monitoring, optimizing and allocating physical data storage for database systems.
• Planning and coordinating data migrations between systems.
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
• Creating, and/or supporting creation of, required reports in response to business user needs.
• Performing database transaction and security audits.
• Establishing appropriate end-user database access control levels. Develop routines for end users to facilitate best practices database use.
• Coding and fixing stored procedures, triggers, functions, tables, constraints, logins, and roles.
• Building platform infrastructure which includes deploying Windows Linux, VMs and Databases.

The position of Manager, Engineering Data Platform Operations requires theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge and attainment of at least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field of study or the foreign academic equivalent. The position requires at least a bachelor’s degree in a field related to the specialty occupation.
