Job Overview

As a Mainframes SQM Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of infrastructure-related changes and projects, such as PTFs, upgrades, integrations, and emergency fixes. You will be responsible for coordinating infrastructure testing activities, analyzing schedules, and resolving infrastructure-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Testing:
• Coordinate and execute infrastructure testing activities for changes and projects.
• Maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Analyze test results and identify potential issues.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to resolve defects and improve test coverage.
• Incident Management:
• Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents promptly and effectively.
• To prevent future incidents, conduct a root cause analysis.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to automate testing processes and improve efficiency.
• Implement best practices for infrastructure testing and quality assurance.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects and changes.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and meet them.
  

Required Skills And Experience

• Strong understanding of z/OS operating system, TSO, ISPF, JCL, JES2/JES3, and other mainframe technologies.
• Experience with mainframe database systems (DB2, IMS) and networking concepts.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Working independently and as part of a team
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
• Knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
