If you’re an experienced Track (Hi-Rail) Machine Operator that is passionate about safety, enjoy working outdoors, and love to travel, this opportunity is for you.
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Ensuring safety is a priority, operators work in a team environment to build an maintain railways in numerous locations across Western Canada by operating one or more specific machines such as a Tamper/Mark IV (Class 3 or 1 required), Regulator/Broom, Boom truck, Hy- tracker/Excavator with brush, Hi-Rail Backhoe, Spiker, Roto Dump/ Dump truck (Class 3 or 1 required), Speed Swing/Pettibone, Tie Extractor/Trip.
In demand operators needed immediately for Boom truck, Hy-Tracker/Excavator, Roto Dump, Tamper/Mark IV, Regulator/Broom
Operators must also ensure compliance with all governed regulations such as DOT. Daily inspections and minor repairs are also completed.

REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: Minimum 6-months of experience operating one of the railroad track Hi-Rail | Hy-Rail machines.
Non-GDL Class 5 driver’s license.
Full Class 3a Driver’s License: You’ll need a valid Class 3 driver’s license at minimum plus a clean drivers abstract to operate specific machinery:
Crane Fundamentals: This training is a requirement for operating a Boom Truck.
Quality Work Boots: Willingness to invest in 8-inch metatarsal work boots (not basic work boots) for safety.
Fit-For-Duty: Pass criminal record check and drug and fitness screening, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Physicality: Must be able to work as labourer when required.
Railway Operating Rules: Pass all required railway operating rules examinations.
Flexibility: Ability and willingness to travel to remote work locations as needed.
Shift Availability: Be prepared to work all shifts.
Self-Sufficiency: Support yourself until your first paycheck arrives.
