About Capital Enterprise

Capital Enterprise is devoted to propelling startups to reach their full potential across the UK. We convene our members to help unlock entrepreneurial talent wherever it exists and build ecosystems to accelerate early-stage ideas to market. Our powerful membership network includes investors, universities, corporates, incubators, accelerators, and public bodies.

Capital Enterprise has four main areas of activity:

  • Developing specialised startup innovation programmes;
  • Serving underrepresented tech founders;
  • Co-developing tech startup ecosystems in underserved regions;
  • Supporting ambitious startups to raise investment.

Capital Enterprise is mission-driven, not profit-driven.

The role and why we need it:

Capital Enterprise is at an exciting stage of growth. We have a number of large programmes commencing in the coming months and we need an entrepreneurial Programme Coordinator who resides within the greater London area to help us manage these new programmes. Our accelerator programmes typically provide startups and scaleups with access to funding, mentorship, technical expertise, regulatory guidance and other resources that can help Founders validate their technologies, conduct trials, raise finance and bring their products to market more quickly. This role is essential to support the successful delivery of our new programmes.

Main Purpose of the role:

The main purpose of the role is to facilitate the day to day activities of the programme, support the team in organising and executing events, facilitate one to one support sessions for the attendees and support the creation of programme marketing assets (with the support of our marketing lead). This role will also provide the opportunity to add value through analysis, signal spotting and commentary in relation to startups and investment. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge about the startup ecosystem and work with some of the most exciting startups in the space.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Management

  • Coordinating the day-to-day of the programme operations.
  • Organising meetings and providing administrative and logistical support and scheduling to efficiently run the accelerator programme.
  • Manage the accelerator programme documentation, notes, collateral and impact reporting.
  • Assist with programme budgeting, expenses and invoicing.
  • Assisting founders
  • Build relevant supporting relationships with our network of coaches, mentors, and others supporting individuals and have regular engagement with our startups.
  • Working closely with the programme team to connect the cohort of startups with the wider innovation ecosystem.
  • Investment Brokerage: Capital Enterprise facilitates networks and relationship building as well as deal flow from startup networks (Universities, Accelerators, Incubators) to investors (VCs, micro-VC, angels, public sector funds, private and institutional investors). Programme Coordinators are expected to assist with the coordination, scheduling and tracking of investor relations.

Event management & marketing

  • Overseeing events, logistics, scheduling, and project costs.
  • Creating and sharing external comms and marketing, including publicity, press releases, social media content and reports with the support of marketing lead
  • Supporting internal community and portfolio initiatives, activities and events.

Key skills & experience:

  • 2+ years experience in a business support role working with founders and therefore knowledgeable about the accelerator market and passionate about startups
  • You should have a knack for efficiency and organisation and should thrive on the satisfaction of driving the completion of tasks in a timely manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Strong multi-channel marketing experience
  • Experience in organising and managing events
  • Have the confidence to engage with external stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task and willingness to help with whatever may be needed
  • Take charge and deliver on your own; be proactive and independent
  • Be comfortable analysing business opportunities for their potential (or be interested in learning how to do this)
  • Be highly organised, comfortable with supporting on multiple projects at once and delivering multiple services
  • Be interested in innovation and how startups operate.

Please note that job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake other duties, broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.
