Are you a L&D Manager looking for your next opportunity? Do you have experience of leading a team across a growing organisation?

Bensons for Beds is looking for a new Learning and Development Manager to join our team based in Accrington.

Reporting to the Head of People, this role will be responsible for all aspects of the control, delivery and supervision of the L&D function. Implementation of full training programme throughout the business, in line with best practice. To review, streamline and continuously develop the L&D Strategy with the overall business strategy ensuring common practice and common goals throughout Bensons for Beds

So, what will you do?

You Will Lead And Direct The L&D Function With The Purpose Of Delivering a Comprehensive L&D Service To The Business. Along With This, You Will Also

  • Co-ordinate, devise and implement development plans for all direct reports within the function ensuring synergy with HR function.
  • design, deliver and monitor all L&D courses listed on the course matrix
  • constantly review the course matrix and ensure that it fulfils the requirements of each Division within the business: Retail, Logistics and Administration.
    • Assist in the management of the e-learning platform and ensure that it fulfils its purpose and returns on the investment.
    • Work in collaboration with the Head of People, People partners and Talent manager and identify areas that require improvement and devise strategy to improve the same.
    • Influence and work with the Head of HR to develop the L&D strategy and ensuring that the agreed strategy is implemented.
    • Observe and promote best practice of HR policies, procedures and processes.
    • Run development programmes which are in accordance with best practice throughout the organisation.
      • Work with senior managers, coaching them and advising on all L&D issues

Who do we want?

  • CIPD qualified or recognised L&D qualification
  • A professional and commercial approach to L&D, flexible and able to adapt to the needs of the business
  • Confidence and strength of character to persuade and put changes in place
  • Team management experience, including coaching & mentoring
  • Previous experience of Managing and developing an e-learning platform
  • Ability to adapt manner to deal with employees and mediate at all levels including senior management up to board level
  • Driven and motivated by the desire to improve systems to and contribute to improved company performance
  • Computer literate in all Microsoft packages
  • Problem solving skills, analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Well organised with excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritise and work on own initiative
  • Team player with high degree of flexibility
  • High degree of integrity, ability to work with sensitive data and maintain trust and confidentiality

You must have a mature outlook and be domestically secure. You must be able to spend nights away without upsetting domestic situation. You will be able to commute reliably to the office base and to remote locations and able to work extended hours as and when required. A clean or near clean driving licence.

You should also be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality service to all internal customers. A natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing and communicating at all levels. Reliable, tolerant, and determined, an empathic communicator, able to see things from the other persons point of view. Well-presented and business-like. Flexible to travel within the UK to all remote locations.
