Role And Responsibilities

The Learning & Development Manager will design, support, facilitate and deliver various programs related to all things Citarella. As a member of the HR team, you will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to understand the long-term vision of the company and proactively plan and design programs to meet the needs of the business. The ideal candidate will have strong facilitation skills and will integrate into the company culture while elevating current best practices. This role will create a strong employee engagement foundation emphasizing great service and the Citarella Core Values.

  • Develop, implement, manage customized training materials, processes, and programs to support business development needs.
  • Create project plans and provide logistical support, course development, delivery, evaluation, and process measurements.
  • Identify training and development needs within the organization through job analysis, appraisals and/or frequent consultation with management, operations, and HR.
  • Create metrics to evaluate training materials, processes, and programs results to ensure they meet our business objectives.
  • Ensure training and development is consistently (techniques, objectives, direction, etc.) delivered/implemented by our teams companywide.
  • Learn and display proficiency and knowledge on all processes, tools or programs used by various departments at all locations.
  • Facilitate/manage orientation standards and track associate completion through the HRIS.
  • Support our internal succession planning by managing individualized training plans (PIP’s/PDP’s) to strengthen our employee’s skills or develop them for future roles.
  • Research, evaluate and utilize new training and development techniques, methods and procedures through workshops, research, meetings, and conferences.
  • Monitor training team expenses to ensure meets training budget.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly performance feedback to team.
  • Create testing and evaluation processes to measure associate/manager competency.
  • Perform various administrative tasks in relation to Training & Development activities, as necessary.
  • Any other ad hoc tasks based on the needs of the business.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or comparable years of experience
  • 6 years minimum in a similar role
  • Management capabilities (i.e., employee relations, scheduling, payroll approval)
  • Well versed in Microsoft Suite with strong skills in Excel and Power Point
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Excellent facilitation and adult learning skills
  • Ability to travel to all Citarella locations

Preferred Skills

  • Able to stand for 8 hours when needed
  • Food industry experience a plus
  • Commutability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a wide demographic
  • English & Spanish preferred
