The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for setting the strategy, framework, and roadmap for learning activities and ensuring alignment with business objectives and priorities. Expertise in digital training delivery and learning management systems (LMS) such as Alchemy to standardize training across the organization.
Essential Functions
* Setting the strategy, framework, and roadmap for learning activities, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and priorities.
* Design and execute L&D initiatives that support employee skill development, workplace safety, and operational efficiency for both salaried and hourly employee populations.
* Oversee the end-to-end deployment of global learning initiatives, including product ownership, localization support, documentation, communications, and change management.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple functions and sub-functions, as well as third-party vendors, to gather strategic input and support design and development efforts.
* Optimize digital training strategies, including e-learning modules, interactive courses, and virtual training sessions, ensuring engagement and knowledge retention.
* Oversee and administer the company's Learning Management System (Alchemy or similar LMS), ensuring proper course deployment, tracking, and reporting.
* Evaluate training impact through performance metrics, employee feedback, and compliance audits, and refining programs as needed.
* Stay current with industry trends by researching and incorporating best practices in manufacturing learning and development, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.
* Position is based in Chicago and requires 20% travel.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, preferred in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong proficiency in Alchemy or similar Learning Management Systems.
* Experience developing digital learning solutions, including e-learning, virtual training, and blended learning models.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and training software.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Experience with setting strategy, leading company-wide initiatives, delivering in-person training, and managing LM systems (preferably Alchemy).
* Experience in a manufacturing organization.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with SCORM-compliant e-learning development tools.
* Certification in Instructional Design, Training & Development, or similar.
* Knowledge of compliance training requirements in a manufacturing environment.
Salary: $90,000 - $135,000
