Insurity’s Business Operations Technical Lead

The Business Operations Technical Lead role involves overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from design to testing, while managing the work of various Enterprise Application Admins, including those for Salesforce, Atlassian, and PPM. Additionally, a successful candidate will oversee developers and DBAs, ensuring that their work aligns with the overall project goals. This role requires close collaboration with the Solution Architecture team and their Business Analysts to ensure that requirements are clear and consumable by the technical team.

The ideal candidate is a technically proficient leader with excellent communication skills, capable of bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. They should be adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality software solutions.

What Our Business Operations Technical Lead Will Do

  • General Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of technical resources, including Enterprise System Administrators (Salesforce, Atlassian, PPM), Developers, DBAs
  • Own any development item from inception to completion
  • Reviews work of the team
  • Leads the technical work of team members
  • Acts as a product and domain expert, contributing to the architectural design and maintenance of the product.
  • Participate in SDLC estimation and development processes.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members
  • Design:
  • Determine & define technical solutions of any items
  • Review other design solutions produced by the team
  • Knowledge of common design patterns
  • Create designs to reduce or eliminate maintenance and ongoing manual testing validation
  • Work to reduce complexity in the produced solutions
  • Create design proposals and prototyping support for new problem spaces and first- time development of highly complex solutions or new & emerging technology
  • Development
  • Develop technical documentation for software and low-code/no code solutions for targeted audience, which may include internal (within the team) and external (other business units) stakeholders
  • Develop solutions for issues and enhancements
  • Helps to set coding and configuration standards
  • Follows Insurity standards for coding and documentation
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to team members, including 3rd party partners
  • Responsible for the estimating and planning of projects & solutions
  • Provide peer-review of designs, code, and artifact delivery
  • Provides in-depth technical troubleshooting and defect investigation & remediation
  • Test
  • Write code and unit tests according to Insurity standards, following an approved technical solution, for enhancements and bug fixes
  • Develop unit tests for code changes and assigned use cases
  • Documentation
  • Able to comment code
  • Create an impact assessment documentation and guide the team on how to do it
  • Prepare and present a technical solution e.g. with PowerPoint, LucidChart Workflows and Diagrams, etc.
  • Leadership
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship and technical guidance to team members
  • Provide performance feedback on team members
  • Prepare and present to all stakeholders, including customers
  • Stay up to date on industry and job-related trends and best practices, including reading relevant publications, articles, blogs, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
