About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Lead General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing journal entries, accurately manage the month -end closing process, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies. You will assist in the preparation of financial statements and perform variance analysis to support business decisions. Act as a key liaison between finance and cross-functional teams, as well as support tax compliance efforts, assist in audit preparation, and contribute to various ad-hoc financial projects.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and review journal entries, ensure accurate and timely month-end close processes, and maintain in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and perform variance analysis on financial data.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Support the development of accounting policies and provide guidance to key stakeholders
  • Act as a liaison between the finance department and other business partners to ensure proper financial record-keeping and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Assist in preparing schedules and documentation required for internal and external audits, including but not limited to the completeness, existence, and valuation of financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations and assist with tax return filings and audits
  • Support ad-hoc projects and provide financial analysis

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably in a similar industry. Big 4 experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software ( NetSuite preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates leadership skills with proactivity and ownership of responsibilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
