Lead Electrical Design Engineer – Ft. Wayne, IndianaFull-Time | On-Site | Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
IFP Automation is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join our rapidly growing Electrical Control Panel Design & Build team at our UL 508A certified manufacturing center in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

What You’ll Do
- Design and develop industrial electrical control panels using AutoCAD Electrical
- Perform component sizing and equipment selection
- Create, revise, and maintain detailed electrical schematics and documentation
- Develop and manage Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Work closely with electrical fabrication technicians
- Conduct equipment testing on-site and occasionally at customer locations
- Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, contractors, and clients
- Ensure compliance with UL 508A standards, project specs, and applicable codes
- Provide specifications for electrical materials procurement
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves:
- 3+ years experience designing industrial control panels
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical
- Experience selecting and wiring VFDs, relays, soft starters, instrumentation, and networking components
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with hazardous location wiring and international codes
- Experience with low/medium voltage wiring and industrial communication protocols
- Understanding of UL 508A requirements
