Job Summary: The L4 Database Administrator will be responsible for the strategic planning, design, implementation, and management of advanced database systems. The main responsibilities of a L4 DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR include:

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for database infrastructure to support business goals and objectives.

Database Design and Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of complex database solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

Advanced Troubleshooting: Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical database issues, providing expert-level support.

Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize database performance, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.

Security Management: Oversee the implementation and enforcement of comprehensive database security measures, including encryption, access controls, and vulnerability assessments.

Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.

Project Leadership: Lead and manage large-scale database projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of database configurations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 8-15 years of experience in database administration, with at least 5 years in a senior or L4 role.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in advanced SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
• Tools: Extensive experience with advanced database monitoring and management tools like SQL Server Management Studio, Oracle Enterprise Manager, OCI Cloud Console, Azure Portal, AWS Management Console, or similar. Experience with monitoring solutions like LogicMonitor, PRTG, SolarWinds, Quest Foglight, DataDog, NewRelic, BigPanda. Experience with backup tools (aside from native OEM Microsoft/Oracle/MySQL) Veeam, Cohesity.
• Security: In-depth knowledge of database security practices, including encryption, access controls, and vulnerability assessments.
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle/MySQL DBA Certified Professional, Oracle DBA 23ai Certified AI Professional, OCI Certified Architect/Multicloud Professional, OCI DBA Service Certified Professional OCI Certified Cloud Operations Professional, Oracle Exadata Database Machine Certified Implementation Specialist, Oracle VM Certified Implementation Specialist, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or similar are highly desirable.
