What Are We Looking For?
We are seeking an experienced L2/L3 Technical Engineer to manage, configure, and troubleshoot network devices across Layer 2 and Layer 3. The ideal candidate will have expertise in configuring switches, managing VLANs, and troubleshooting network connectivity issues at Layer 2. At Layer 3, the role requires proficiency in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIP), IP addressing, and ensuring network scalability and redundancy. Strong knowledge of network security, monitoring tools, and experience with Cisco and Juniper equipment are essential.
The L2/L3 Technical Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
- Configure and manage network switches, VLANs, and trunking.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Layer 2 and 3 network issues (e.g., SDWAN connectivity, ARP, MAC address issues).
- Manage Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) to ensure network redundancy and avoid loops.
- Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure efficient data flow.
- Configure and manage routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIP) to ensure efficient data routing between subnets and networks.
- Implement IP addressing and subnetting strategies for network scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Layer 3 routing issues, including misrouted packets and IP address conflicts.
- Maintain and monitor network performance
- Implement network security measures (firewalls, ACLs, VPNs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for network-related incidents.
- Assist team member especially to L1 Technical Support
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Other relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, CompTIA Network+, or Higher).
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-level Cisco and/or Juniper routers and switches.
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper routers and switches.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and common networking protocols.
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with network security practices (e.g., ACLs, VPNs, firewalls).
- Knowledge of high-availability protocols (HSRP, VRRP).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues across multiple layers.
- Strong troubleshooting skills using both manual and automated tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document network configurations and issues.
- Knowledge of cloud networking and SD-WAN technologies. These qualifications ensure that an L2/L3 Network Engineer can effectively support and manage the network infrastructure at different layers of the OSI model.
Work Set-up: Onsite in Ortigas, Pasig City
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm
