Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to work on migrating on-premise applications to AWS and contribute to ongoing cloud migration projects. The ideal candidate should have expertise in Java, Spring, and AWS technologies and must bring fresh, innovative ideas to the team. This role requires onsite presence 4 days per week at the Boston office, with a strong preference for local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs.
• Develop source code for web-based applications in Java/J2EE technologies.
• Create and execute unit test cases and support functional/system integration testing.
• Deploy applications and provide production support as needed.
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions to ensure highly scalable and efficient software platforms.
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 5+ years in Java/J2EE development.
• Proficient in Java, Spring (Spring MVC), and ORM frameworks like Hibernate or myBatis.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, EC2, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform).
• Familiarity with web technologies: JavaScript, JSP, CSS, HTML, jQuery.
• Proficiency in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Strong understanding of XML, JSON, AJAX, and RESTful web services.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Maven.
• Knowledge of multi-threading concepts using Java libraries (e.g., Executor framework).
• Additional Requirements: Strong SQL database design skills and experience optimizing database performance.
