Summary

Job Description:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the successful candidate will:

  • Be part of our in-house project team which develop and enhance the Admissions, Student Records, Student Portal, Financial Aid and Student Financials modules and its related interfaces of the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions for the University
  • Take on an advanced technical role in the administration, optimization, and security of the PeopleSoft system to ensure its stability, performance, and compliance with SUTD’s IT governance and cybersecurity policies
  • Lead the integration of PeopleSoft with various internal and external systems, ensuring seamless data exchange with various applications in the University
  • Drive automation and process improvements by leveraging APIs (Application Programming Interface), middleware solutions, and batch processing to streamline student-related operations
  • Participate in system upgrades and future-proofing initiatives, contributing to SUTD’s long-term digital transformation and IT modernization efforts
  • Involve in the support and maintenance of the above mentioned modules by performing analysis, problem solving, debugging, testing and deployment
  • Involve in the development of new changes for SUTD’s student system and Student Portal developed in Campus Solutions 9.2 and PeopleSoft Interaction Hub 9.1 by performing activities such as conducting business process analysis, requirement gathering, design, development and deployment to meet growing needs of the University


Responsibilities:

  • Manage system-wide integrations, ensuring seamless interoperability between SAMS (Student Administration & Management System) and other critical applications. You will also be responsible in determining the technical architecture of the SAMS system, overseeing the overall software architecture design of SAMS to ensure operational and cybersecurity needs, and conducting feasibility studies on how newer technologies can be harnessed for use with SAMS, and to implement them where necessary
  • Perform PeopleSoft System Administration & Performance Optimization activities to analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to optimize response times. Coordinate with the various teams for database tuning, load balancing, disaster recovery planning, and system scaling
  • Design and develop secure, scalable APIs and middleware solutions to enable real-time data exchange between PeopleSoft and other enterprise applications. This include handling the batch processing and automation workflows using SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol), database scripts, and PeopleSoft Integration Broker
  • Provide leadership in defining integration architecture, best practices, and technical governance for system interoperability
  • Be the technical resource to work with users to implement, develop and enhance mainly on the Admissions (Undergraduate, Masters and Postgraduate), Internships and Exchanges (Overseas and Local, Inbound and Outbound) modules and its related interfaces in SUTD’s Integrated Student System. This includes conducting feasibility study, requirements/functional gathering, development/deployment, data conversion/ mapping testing and technical support. Experience in Admissions and Internship/Exchange modules with Fluid user interface are also preferable
  • Be involved in the support and maintenance of the above mentioned modules after the modules/enhancements went live by ensuring that the issues and support meet the agreed service levels
  • Assist in the development of new changes by working with users to identify/understand requirements, design, develop and deploy the solutions based on the standards, procedures and policies set by the University
  • Perform complex SQL queries and use data base tools to examine table structures, indexes, and other database objects with minimal guidance. Perform unit testing and coordinate full system testing with users to ensure results meet program specifications, as well as code review and configuration changes to address application security considerations
  • Document business user processes and create specifications for coding systems or programs including the data sources to be utilized
  • Write program documentation describing program logic and steps required to develop projects, and server level file copy batch jobs and perform SFTP operations
  • Act as the security custodian for PeopleSoft applications, implementing best practices in identity management, access controls, and encryption
  • Prepare for and participate in external and internal IT audits, ensuring PeopleSoft’s security configurations align with compliance standards
  • Act as a mentor and technical advisor for junior developers, supporting knowledge transfer and skill development
  • Help to support University wide initiatives by representing Office of IT in department appointed events


Requirements:

You should possess a Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with at least 8 years of proven experience as a technical resource in Campus Solution 9.2, Peopletools version 8.61 and above and PeopleSoft Interaction Hub 9.1. You should have strong technical competencies and an analytical mind plus the following qualities:

  • 5 years of PeopleSoft development experience using Peopletools Application Designer
  • 2 years of web services implementation using API
  • 2 years of testing experience with PeopleSoft applications (e.g. unit, application)
  • 3 years of SQL experience
  • 3 years of experience supporting PeopleSoft Applications
  • Preferably have experience setting up, configuring and deploying Mobile applications in Apple App Store and Google Play Store, as well as Peopletools applications and related server setup for ICAP (International Compliance Assurance Programme) antivirus scanning
  • Experience in handling bundle applications, retrofit and regression testing in PeopleSoft applications
  • Strong verbal and written skills
