Summary

The Core Business Delivery department within our IT group is responsible for delivering systems relating to core banking (CASA), remittance, insurance, private banking, card, and ATMs.


As a Project Manager for our Wealth Advisory Applications, you will manage the delivery of applications for BDO’s Wealth Management services. Your role encompasses the effective management of project scope, budget, schedule and quality of deliverables. You will oversee the formation and coordination of cross-functional teams (including BDO’s Singapore and Hong Kong teams) throughout the whole project lifecycle.


This role will have a Senior Officer rank in the bank.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Ensure timely and quality delivery from cross-functional teams from initiation until closing.
  • Consult with business partners and all stakeholders to clarify and define project requirements and business case, including development of a statement of work for Wealth Management services and applications.
  • Present project goals and progress reports to the top management.
  • Ensure compliance of infrastructure and applications with IT standards, policies and guidelines, as well as other financial governing bodies (e.g. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, AMLA Council, etc.).
  • Develop and manage project key constraints, issues, risks, processes, performance metrics, and communication plans.
  • Implement control and reporting structures for project monitoring regarding risk and change management based on defined governance methods and standard processes.
  • Conduct post-mortem, project closure reviews, CSAT surveys and team performance appraisals.


Competencies:


  • Analytical Thinking: Strong solution definition, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Technical and Business Communication: Ability to communicate both in technical language with developers and business language with business partners.
  • PM Frameworks: Demonstrated expert knowledge on various frameworks such as Scrum, PMP, and Kanban that can be applied to the development or improvement of Wealth Management applications.
  • Project Management Domain Knowledge: Good practical knowledge on WBS, planning, scheduling and management fields such as Risk & Issue, Dependency, Stakeholder, Scope/Requirements, Financial, and Vendor Management.
  • Domain Knowledge in Financial Services: Understands key concepts of wealth management services such as investment and risk management, wealth protection and distribution, treasury, capital, securities, and the solutions related to this field.
  • Leadership Skills: Can aid in the proper resolution and management of possible conflicts between different team members and keep teams on track.
  • Knowledge on SDLC: Understanding of software development lifecycle, agile methods and processes, and capability to support project and delivery teams.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience as full-time project manager (directly managing the team) in the financial services industry.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in managing complex projects involving the implementation of digital or online transactions and the use of relevant applications such as Avaloq.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing minimally 2 large projects (i.e. > 1year, > 30 people, > USD 5M).
  • Demonstrated experience with projects involving application UI/UX design principles, financial APIs, data integration and application security is a strong advantage.
  • Certifications like PMP or Prince 2 are not required but will be a strong advantage.
  • Candidate must be willing to work in Makati or Ortigas.
