Duties
This position is located in Audits within the OIG, which as an Information Technology (IT) Auditor performs a variety of cybersecurity, data analytics, and audits, inspections, and reviews of USCP's complex computer infrastructure and data to verify that its information resources provide the highest level of security, reliability, and value expected by stakeholders. Specifically, the incumbent tests effectiveness of computer and operational systems and their information security components provide detailed reports on the findings to the Assistant Inspector General for Audits (AIGA),and issues recommendations on best practicesto improve the security levels of the systems. The main goal of an IT security auditor is to determine whether a computer system is safe enough to protect an organization's assets and data integrity while allowing for the organizational goals to be attained through efficient use of IT resources. IT security auditors usually work in cooperation with others such as internal and external organizations to ensure the security of all USCP systems.
The incumbent of this position conducts independently difficult assignments that typically involve interrelationships between and among programs, systems, functions, policies, and various issues. The audits conducted may involve financial records and systems or consist of activities to review and evaluate the performance of an entity'sassigned functions or activities involved in the detection of fraud, waste, and abuse.
Required to manage multiple, technically complex tasks concurrently to complete most assignments. The work of the incumbent involves a wide variety of duties, including planning and leading efforts to address issues in areas where precedents do not exist, and resolving particularly difficult and complex problems in highly responsible situations. The work involves comprehensive planning, frequent coordination of activities of team members, and comprehensive analysis of IT functions including financial and operational systems for the purpose of identifying problems and issues that are inhibiting mission accomplishment of the organization being audited.
Plans and tailors the audit approach to fit the particular entities/systems involved and the particular problems and issues that have been identified prior to the actual on-site work. The audit reports, including recommendations and corrective actions prepared by the incumbent, are expected to result in improvements in the IT Governance and operational processes to ensure system and network integrity and overall operations and policies of USCP.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.
You must meet the minimum basic educational and/or work experience requirements for professional accounting positions in the federal government. 1. Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, cybersecurity, data analytics, data science, accounting or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 credit semester hours or equivalent in accounting. (May include up to six (6) credit hours or equivalent in business law). 2. At least four years of experience in IT auditing, or an equivalent combination of IT auditing, college-level education, and training that included 24 credit semester hours or equivalent in accounting or auditing courses. (May include up to six (6) credit hours or equivalent in business law).

Information Technology (IT) Auditing experience is a plus.
Possess a relevant professional certification to include Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
