Discovery Senior Living is hiring an IT Application Support Intern to join our home office team in Bonita Springs, FL.
This is not a remote opportunity.
The IT Application Support Intern will gain invaluable hands-on experience by assisting with critical business applications on a fast-paced IT team. This internship provides a launchpad for a career in IT, providing hands-on experience with software development and configuration, developing problem-solving skills, contributing to a team's success, and exploring a potential career path in application support and development.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with the installation, configuration, and testing of new software applications.
* Provide technical support to end-users, resolving application issues and answering questions.
* Document application procedures and troubleshooting steps.
* Conduct research on new technologies and industry best practices related to application support.
* Participate in system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) for new application deployments.
* Create and maintain user guides and training materials for assigned applications.
* Stay up to date on current IT trends and emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
* Currently enrolled in a computer science, information technology, or related program (minimum sophomore year).
* Strong understanding of computer hardware and software concepts.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A desire to learn and a strong work ethic.
* Must be results-driven and goal oriented.
* Must be cognitive and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* The ability to multi-task and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
* Must be supportive of team-spirited environment.
BONUS POINTS (not required, but helpful):
* Experience with specific application development tools or scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
* Experience with IT service desk ticketing systems.
* Experience with provisioning role-based access.
