Hitachi Energy is seeking an
Internal Communications Manager for its Grid Integration (GI) business unit. The successful applicant will drive the development and dissemination of our
internal messaging and
communications strategy aligned with GI’s ambitious growth targets to ensure our people understand and embrace our various internal initiatives, such as major organizational realignments and our people strategy, including
competence development, DEI, HSE, quality and execution excellence.
A key member of the GI Communications team, the Internal Communications Manager will focus on driving employee engagement and advocacy, and help shape an environment, network and culture where our teams and individuals are encouraged and enabled to scale to their potential. This individual will collaborate closely with other key functions to drive GI’s people strategy and its continual transformation journey into an agile and learning organization and will coordinate the other internal communications resources
We’re looking for a seasoned internal communications expert with significant experience in
leading and producing proactive communications, who is an innovative and
strategic problem-solver, enjoys working in a
dynamic, fast-paced and changing environment, and is comfortable working under tight deadlines hand in hand with the GI HR function.
This is a challenging, senior, and visible role, within a high performing team that will
require high levels of
strategic assessment, analysis, resilience, flexibility and drive for results. The right candidate will drive innovation in our communications channels, tools and processes, and will have overall responsibility for all internal communications, driving to improve quality, frequency, and formats.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Craft and execute all internal communications plans for the GI business to a high standard that align with the BU strategy for growth, as well as Company messaging and Purpose.
- Help increase employee understanding and engagement on our Business Unit strategy by strengthening leader and management communications.
- Work closely with the Head of Communications to develop the internal communications strategy and programs for Grid Integration’s Managing Director and Function Heads.
- Lead the implementation of the transformation and scale-up strategy initiatives designed to optimize the way we work and our culture.
- Oversee the activity and content creation being led by less senior internal communications colleagues, such as organizational announcements, webinars, presentations, newsletters, intranet updates, presentations, leadership messages, and IT communications.
- Work closely with the Global Head of Communications and the rest of the Business Unit communications team to ensure internal amplification of external campaigns, success stories, articles, press releases and other external communications initiatives.
- Work to increase our people’s use of social media to drive advocacy and attract talent.
Your Background
- A minimum of 10- years of professional work experience in a communications environment with a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or journalism.
- Excellent writing, editing and design skills and Project Management.
- Effective interpersonal skills in active listening and rapport-building at multiple levels of decision makers, including executive and senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and deliver in a complex, fast-paced business environment.
- Experienced to work in a complex international matrix organization.
- Well-developed organizing and time management skills.
- Demonstrated creative execution across the full range of communications media and formats (short-form, long-form, web, social, video, audio/podcasting, infographics, PPT presentations, executive stage time, webinars, etc.).
- Fluent in English. Knowledge of a second language will be considered a plus, but it’s not mandatory.
