Position: Injection Molding Process Tech Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Job Summary
Responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the 2nd shift in the Injection Molding Department. This position works with Engineering to determine and correct part flaws as well as understand the principles of scientific injection molding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintaining the Injection department schedule for Mold changes.
Overseeing the set-up, cycling and operating of all injection machines.
Supervise, schedule and manage all aspects of the Injection department
Work with Process Technicians and Engineering to develop processing cycles for all Injection machines.
Troubleshoot any molding issues using Root Cause Analysis (or similar) to determine and correct the issues going forward.
Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.
Manage department profitability by improving first time yield and reducing material waste.
Work with Quality to qualify new or existing parts on new Molding Machines.
Incorporates 5S, shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
Ensure all trouble shooting logs are updated and stored electronically.
Maintain the preventative maintenance schedule for all Injection machines and secondary equipment.
Create and maintain a safe work environment.
Incorporates 5S, shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
Provides direction, development and leadership to maintenance supervisor.
Meets all OHSA responsibilities assigned and IATF-16949 requirements to ensure compliance.
Support and meet all ISO14001 responsibilities assigned and requirements.
Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.
Other duties may be assigned.
Management Responsibilities
Must possess the ability to manage, motivate and coordinate the activities of the Production Department staff.
Carries out Supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
Planning, assigning, and directing work
Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.
Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Job Qualifications
Engineering degree with focus in plastics is preferred; a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Years of experience in an Injection Molding environment
Demonstrated leadership skills
Years of experience in a manufacturing supervisor role is required.
Strong blueprint interpretation, understanding of tolerance specifications and good working knowledge of GD&T
Must be highly organized and be comfortable with a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Must have the ability to plan, organize, and communicate effectively.
Must be able to prioritize own workday schedule.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The ability to understand and use the appropriate trade calculation formulas and apply fundamentals of mechanics, material strengths, power, torque and ratios as apply to the content of essential responsibilities.

Show ability to apply technical knowledge and common sense to troubleshoot problem areas. Ability to quickly assess breakdowns, emergency situations, and direct the appropriate resources to resolve in a safe and timely manner. Review and assess and communicate suggestions for improvements.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to rick of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
