POSITION: INJECTION MOLDING PROCESS TECHNICIANLOCATION: SCHAUMBURG, IL AREATYPE: FULL TIME/DIRECT HIRE
We have a direct client, a family owned plastic injection molding company in business since 1985, who is in need of a Plastic Injection Molding Process Technician – this is a full time/direct hire opportunity in the Schaumburg, IL area.
Responsibilities Establishing and developing scientific molding processes with high process capability index Troubleshoot molds for various defects and process tuning to PPAP approvals Ability to work with small to big sized molds on the machine and on the inspection table Working knowledge with various molding machines like, VanDorns, Engels, Toyo, Haitian, and Niigata Working knowledge with various hot runner tools like Husky, Yudo, INCO, and DME Experience in complex tooling and multi-layered parting lines Working experience in processing insert molding tools and over molding Assist operators in tuning process defects and short shots Responsible for scrap rate reduction by process improvement Startup, shutdown; operate molding machines, both hydraulic and electric Work independently in monitoring running molds, identifying defects and work to fix them Maintain tooling health by tool PM activities and cleaning molds on the inspection table Setup molds on molding machines and prepare for production - installing water lines, air lines, tooling fixtures/ inserts / robotic EOA tooling Working with mold makers and communicating actively to resolve mold repairs and qualifying the molds Requirements High school degree / technical degree with working experience in plastics Thorough understanding of processing resins - commodity and engineering grade Conduct processing in a safe manner without hazardous conditions Ability to take initiatives and resolve problems Excellent communication in English is a MUST and Spanish is optional Working knowledge in MS Office, Word and PowerPoint/developer PowerPoint inspection reportsCommunicate with in house / external mold repair shops in fixing the molds Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensions, tolerances called out on the print Ability to find opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce production costs Ability to solve problems on the shop floor and technical issues efficiently Document all processes and quality related paperwork necessary for IATF and customer specific requirements Participate in technical audits and investigations to resolve the customer issues Develop SOP and maintain paperwork on the shop floor to meet the requirements Follow all SOPs and KPI concerning safety, on time delivery, quality, production, appropriate legal requirements Optional Requirements Associates degree / Bachelor’s degree Working knowledge of SPC, SQC, FMEA-P/D, ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS, DOE, GR&R Develop process reaction plans Knowledge of IQ, PQ molds; ability to troubleshoot and develop instructions to mold maker for repairs Entelli Consulting 2023
