About This Position

Primary Job Responsibilities

Use Scientific Injection Molding principles to keep molding processes running smoothly in order to produce high quality plastic components

Support production by optimizing and/or trouble-shooting existing processes

Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, improve yield and throughput, drive cost reduction activities and improve on part quality

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to technicians, operators and other production personnel.

Use systematic problem solving tools to troubleshoot both current and new product issues

Develop and maintain process documentation ensuring that processes and procedures are clearly stated and understandable for all employees

Write robot programs and develop processes on secondary operations equipment

Work with equipment and material vendors to resolve processing issues, as needed

Assist in the implementation of new product into production

Assist production team with process development, following qualification protocol requirements, and the creation of production's technical documentation

Use scientific injection molding principles in the development of qualifying a new mold

Troubleshoot existing processes to improve product quality, productivity and overall equipment efficiency

Implement technical solutions, including scientific and statistical methodology, to meet customer cost, quality, and delivery expectations

Facilitate and support safety, environmental, and ergonomics efforts

Mentor and train other production personnel as needed

Maintain 5S organization on production floor

Education And Job Skill Requirements

Minimum Education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent

Proficiency in Scientific Injection Molding: Both a working knowledge of, and experience with, Scientific Injection Molding principles

3 or more years injection molding experience

Good math computation skills (addition, subtraction, percentages, ratios)

Good Time Management skills to maintain organized work environment, multi-task effectively

Good communication (written and verbal), teamwork, and organizational skills

Good computer skills, Word, Excel, etc

Friendly, professional manner

Commitment to accuracy and quality of work

Exceptional attention to detail

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift (8-10 hrs / day)

No restrictions on twisting and bending (to move product and set molds)

Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 55 lbs)

Regular use of hands (100% of time)

Ability to work in a shop environment frequent exposure to loud noises, dust, solvents, and oils

Frequent reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling and crouching

Vision 20/20 with or without correction

Ability to determine slight differences in color and other visual blemishes (molding defects)
