Manage and implement the assigned projects from inception through to completion
Develop new project or program plans and expectations in consultation with and delegating deliverables to stakeholders, including clients
Determine and manage the human and material resources required to complete assigned projects successfully
Formulate a resource allocation strategy and utilize this to distribute work and budgets
Exercise authority in managing the work and control the delivery of the projects per project plans
Review and ensure adherence to the overall scope, schedule, and budget
Identify risks and entrench mitigation strategies and contingency plans
Monitor and report on performance against project requirements, schedule, milestones, budgets, quality measures, and KPIs, and address issues with corrective actions as appropriate to ensure excellence and adherence to specified deadlines
Evaluate the project's effectiveness by consulting with clients and other stakeholders
Establish and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations to various audiences, including the project team, client executives, key stakeholders, and Operations
Lead scope change negotiations
Oversee ongoing quality control, participate in quality issue resolution, and manage internal quality control checks for the project
Define success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project and program life cycle
Complete any tasks assigned by manager or higher in an efficient and timely manner
Lead the planning, design, and execution of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects, including substations, overhead and underground transmission lines, and distribution networks
Identify and pursue opportunities for additional business with the client, including upselling services and expanding project scopes
Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals, presentations, and strategies to secure new business opportunities
Provide insights into market trends and client needs to inform business development strategies and enhance service offerings
Ensure compliance with utility regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements in all project phases
Collaborate with utility companies, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to align project goals with industry standards and client expectations
Manage the integration of renewable energy sources into T&D systems, ensuring grid stability and reliability
Oversee the implementation of advanced technologies, such as smart grids, SCADA systems, and energy storage solutions, to enhance operational efficiency
Conduct risk assessments specific to T&D projects, including grid reliability, load forecasting, and system resilience
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams specializing in T&D infrastructure

Experience:
Minimum of 12 years of experience in Project Management with at least 5 years in Transmission & Distribution or Utilities projects
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Licenses OR Certifications:
Holding a recognized Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is an asset
Skills and Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of Transmission & Distribution systems, including design, construction, and maintenance
Proven ability to identify and capitalize on business development opportunities within the Utilities and T&D sectors
Experience in developing and delivering client-focused proposals and presentations to secure new business
Familiarity with utility industry standards, such as IEEE, NERC, and FERC regulations
Expertise in grid modernization initiatives, including renewable energy integration and energy efficiency programs
Strong understanding of power system planning, load flow analysis, and fault analysis
Ability to manage large-scale capital projects in the Utilities sector, ensuring alignment with client objectives and regulatory requirements
Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing cross-functional teams in a Utilities environment
Strong understanding of prevailing Project Management methods
Extensive knowledge of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performance
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
Proficient in Project Management software
Must maintain professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices
Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
