Insight Global is looking for a high-level Industrial Engineer, focused on system level design and optimization. As the Manager of Industrial Engineering – Warehouse Design, you will work with some of the most talented engineers in the design and development of physical fulfillment systems in the US. You will be responsible for leading the development of facilities that may include material flow diagrams, facility layouts, material handling equipment designs, automation designs, storage media designs, process designs, and slotting and pick path analyses etc. The IE team is seeking an innovative and solutions-oriented engineering leader to develop and deliver next generation, world-class fulfillment and transportation systems.
We’re seeking a full-time Manager, Industrial Engineering – Warehouse Design for their Bellevue corporate office.
Job Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end warehouse design projects. Bring conceptual drawing to implementation
- Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the fulfillment and transportation network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
- Develop long-term warehouse design strategies aligned with business growth objectives
- Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Oversee multiple concurrent warehouse design and optimization projects
- Lead comprehensive end-to-end warehouse design projects from conceptualization to implementation
- Develop innovative solutions for complex warehouse challenges across multiple facilities
- Design multi-functional warehouses integrating automation, robotics, and advanced technologies
Pay: $130,000 - $170,000/yr (+ annual bonus and RSU's)
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree required in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering etc.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in warehouse/distribution center design and optimization
- Demonstrated track record of end-to-end warehouse design implementations (Conceptual design to opening)
- Expert knowledge of warehouse design principles, methodologies, and best practices across diverse industries
- Experience with diverse warehouse types (e-commerce, retail, manufacturing, etc.)
- Extensive AutoCAD experience
- Ability to travel up to 50% of time throughout the United States
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Six Sigma Black Belt or similar advanced process improvement certification
- Experience with Automated and Manual design work in warehouse/fulfillment centers
- Master's degree preferred in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- E-commerce fulfillment center experience (Amazon, Walmart, Nike, FedEx, UPS, eBay, Home Depot, etc.)
Salary (+): $130,000 - $170,000/yr (+ EOY bonus & stock options)
