The HR Operations Specialist plays a key role in supporting core HR processes and programs at Appian, with a primary focus on onboarding, employee data management, compliance, and operational support across the employee lifecycle. This role ensures a smooth employee experience while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in HR systems and procedures.

In this role, you will:
* Manage the overall onboarding process for North America hires.
* Implement onboarding program changes and accommodations that impact the global program.
* Completes Form I-9, verifies I-9 documentation, and monitors and ensures I9 federal compliance.
* Conduct and review employee background checks in North America to ensure compliance with Appian standards.
* Manage the global (excluding India) new hire swag program.
* Assist with processing voluntary and involuntary terminations across the North America region.
* Provides feedback and suggestions on the overall HR processes and procedures to improve efficiency, and account for changing company or department needs.
* Manage key HR Programs including, the Bereavement/Critical Illness Flowers program and Charitable Giving Program.
* Maintain data integrity in Workday as it relates to auditing new hires, relocations and internal transfer details, and facilitate actions of non-automated, employee changes in Workday.
* Complete monthly headcount report for Finance.
* Assist employees with internal and external HR related inquiries or requests (HR inbox, ARC tickets, and employment verification requests).
* Assist with miscellaneous payroll related submissions and ad-hoc HR Operations projects.
* Process US Unemployment Claims.
* Support the relocation process for employees moving to and from North America.
* Process employee lifecycle changes in Workday, including job changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations, etc., ensuring data accuracy and compliance with company policies
* Assist with process enhancements that impact North America or the overall HR process and procedures.
About You:
* Bachelors Degree in a related field.
* 2+ years of related experience in HR/Operations.
* Preferred: Exposure to HRIS and/or payroll procedures.
