About the role

We are looking to hire a skilled Head of Commerce to join our team. The role will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, and leading the commercial expansion in Greater China region, reporting to the General Manager in the region.

In this role you will get the chance to work on leading the bank's strategic initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, and driving sustainable growth. This role involves overseeing key commercial activities, engaging with regulators, and representing the bank in high-level engagements.

What you will be doing

• Assist the General Manager in developing and implementing the bank's strategic vision and goals for the Greater China region.
• Manage client portfolios and sales activities to achieve commercial objectives.
• Ensure efficiency and compliance with local and international regulatory standards, including HKMA guidelines.
• Monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and ensure profitability.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and community leaders.
• Identify and mitigate risks to protect the bank's assets and reputation, implementing robust risk management frameworks for cybersecurity, compliance, and operational risks.

What we are looking for

To be the ideal candidate for this position, you should have a proven track record in a relevant role, with a minimum of 15 years of experience in banking or financial services, including at least 5 years in a senior executive position. Experience in the Greater China region is essential.

You hold a master’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in banking, finance, or management are highly desirable.

You possess strong leadership, strategic thinking, financial acumen, and excellent communication skills. Experience in the payment industry and a robust business network would be a significant advantage. You consistently demonstrate high ethical standards and integrity in all your actions. Your ability to think strategically and anticipate future industry trends sets you apart. As a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, you thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments. Additionally, you have a deep understanding of cultural and business practices in the Greater China region.
