A Defence client is seeking a full-time independent professional services contractor to provide technical architecture design advice and assurance. This contractor will work under limited direction and be responsible for the overall technical architecture, design, and direction of GIS systems, as well as being responsible for the alignment of these systems across security domains.

Clearance: NV2 or better, PV preferred. Defence Intelligence Suitability Assessment will be required.

Est Start Date: 11 June 2025

Contract: 1-year initial term, with potential 2x12-month extensions.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice & technical assurance to support GIS operations across multiple security domains
• Be responsible for GIS systems' architecture & provide SME to capability delivery areas
• Ensure technical GIS solutions meet or exceed functional & non-functional requirements
• Co-produce & validate technical design documents, aligning to solutions requirements specifications
• Review & influence existing solution, design & system architecture to ensure effective operations of Enterprise GIS systems

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• At least 10 years demonstrated experience with data, map and application configuration and deployment in ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Extensive experience knowledge of GIS business, architecture concepts (Service Oriented Architecture, Web Services, etc.), and GIS deployment architectures.
• Demonstrated expert knowledge in ESRI geospatial technologies, including ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro, as well as knowledge of other geospatial technologies including open-source geospatial technologies. 
• Broad, demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery, specification, design, implementation and management of Enterprise GIS systems.
• Demonstrated GIS skills and experience in management of spatial data.
• Demonstrated experience architecting, using and administering ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience with Esri Web Services, ArcGIS Enterprise and other related spatial services.
• Knowledge and/or experience in:
• Defence use of the Esri suite  
• Defence Intelligence business processes
