General Manager / Director Engineering (India Operations)

Location: Chennai / Trivandrum

Experience: 18 - 20 Yrs

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the product engineering, quality assurance, and product support of the organization.
• Responsible for delivering high-quality software products meeting SLAs, on-time, and within budget.
• Work with the CTO and other team members to develop a long-term product plan for client products, and manage the release planning cycles for all products.
• Responsible for resource management and skill sets for each product in the organization, assuring that each team is occupied with sufficient skilled resources to meet product deliverables.
• Responsible for developing and managing a skills escalation and promotion path for the product engineering organization.
• Responsible for implementing tools and processes to optimize product engineering throughput and quality.

• Ability to work with multiple levels in the organization, and in a global setting
• Ensuring that key milestones are met and that solutions delivered are of the highest quality
• Delivery on project timelines, internal and external SLAs with emphasis on turn times and error-free work product
• Maintain the highest level of internal / external customer satisfaction
• Ensure controlled releases to production, with amongst other measures, stringent code reviews from standards and performance perspectives. Use metrics to demonstrate success.
• Ensure fit of personnel to tasks.
• Deal decisively with low performers in the organization.
• Understand our Products with their interrelationships and collective relevance to business and ensure appropriate availability and stability to the Business.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Engineering from premier institutes. MBA preferred
• 18 years of software development experience, with 10 years of experience in a managerial capacity
• Thorough Knowledge of Software development process and hands-on knowledge in implementation.
• Leadership Experience in an early-stage start-up company is a plus
• Experience with mobile technologies a plus
• Professional experience with the one or more of the following interactive languages and technologies is required FLEX, PHP, HTML5, MYSQL, MONGODB
• On-site experience working in the US is a plus.
• Experience with Agile Methodology
