Skymap Games is hiring programmers to join our engineering department. Engineers within the department work collaboratively to deliver projects to industry partners, as well as develop our own internal games. Our work spans across a wide range of technologies.

Location: Remote (+/-3 hours US Central timezone)

Employee Type: FT Exempt

Minimum Experience: 3 Years

Full-time salaried (Anticipated USD$70,000-95,000 based on experience)

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy online services for games
• Create IaC scripts to manage AWS cloud environments
• Manage and configure services on Kubernetes
• Independently develop and communicate solutions for technical issues
• Troubleshoot and optimize code for high performance
• Provide a safe and welcoming work environment

Qualifications

• 3+ years game industry coding experience
• AWS experience required
• AWS CDK experience required
• Node.js and TypeScript experience required
• Comfortable working with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiar with Linux servers and networking fundamentals
• Familiar with monitoring and troubleshooting online services
• Experience with server and client communication development

Pluses

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Experience with security best practices
• Experience with scaling large online systems
• Experience with client/server Unreal development
• Experience working in fully remote teams
