Job Position
Position: Full-time PHP / Laravel Developer
Location: Remote

Salary range: USD 1,300
Contract end date: 31st of December 2023 with the possibility of renewal
Women First Digital is hiring for a full-time PHP / Laravel Developer. The position will be hired on a consulting contract, to be filled immediately. The contract will extend through December 31, 2023 with opportunity for renewal through 2024. This position is fully and permanently remote.
Job Description
Skills
● Strong understanding of core PHP concepts and Laravel framework
● Extensive experience with PHP, Javascript and HTML5/CSS3
● Experience with API development
● Understanding and implementing security and data protection.
● Should have a strong understanding of writing secure and maintainable backends and APIs.
● Experience Git and Github
● Experience with LESS or SASS will be a plus.
● Experience with PHP frameworks like Codeigniter, Yii, etc and platforms like
Moodle, WordPress are plus.
● Knowledge of technical and on-page SEO is a plus.
● Experience with react or gatsby will be considered a plus.
● Cloud concepts knowledge is a plus.
● Desirable experience with: Google Analytics, PGP, design skills or sysadmin.
Responsibilities
● Writing standard PHP code for our Backend Applications and APIs.
● Designing and managing the website back-end, including database and server integration.
● Participate actively in test-driven, iterative development processes, including prototyping, code reviews, and continuous integration.
● Implement comprehensive unit and performance tests to ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of the codebase.
● Troubleshooting code issues..
● Review and debug code to identify and resolve any issues or bugs, ensuring high-quality deliverables in existing systems.
Position Requirements:
University degree in computer science, informatics, etc, or at least three years’ work experience in website/mobile development.
Fluent in English. Working knowledge of other languages (French, Portuguese, Spanish etc.) is a plus.
Must have independent access to a computer and internet.
Interest in social justice and / or reproductive rights is a plus
