At Contour Education, were on a mission to reshape how students learnstarting with tutoring. We empower students to succeed in their school assessments and final exams through engaging, small-group tutoring, personalised support, and a growing suite of high-quality learning resources.

Since our founding in early 2020, weve supported over 6,000 students and built a team of 250+ onshore staff and 70+ talented offshore team members. Our offshore team has been instrumental in helping us deliver exceptional content and support at scaleand now, were taking the next step.

Role Overview

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, youll be part of our India-based engineering team, working closely with onshore stakeholders to build scalable features and integrations. Youll participate in technical decision-making, maintain high code quality, and contribute to building a robust platform that supports thousands of students.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development & Learning
• Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript, Supabase, and Python
• Participate in the design and implementation of new features and backend systems
• Write clean, maintainable code and engage in peer reviews
• DevOps & Deployment
• Support setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate on deployment processes and infrastructure management
• Monitor system performance and work to improve reliability
• Collaboration & Communication
• Work closely with the Onshore Project Owner, Developer, and Head of IT & India
• Participate in regular check-ins and syncs
• Communicate technical ideas, updates, and blockers clearly

What Were Looking 25 years of backend-heavy or full-stack development experience

• Familiarity with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and SQL database design
• Basic understanding of system design and architectural patterns
• Experience integrating third-party tools and CRMs
• Strong communication and teamwork Experience with Python 3.10+ for backend scripting or tooling
• Familiarity with Supabase or backend-as-a-service frameworks
• Background in EdTech or education platforms
• Experience with CI/CD workflows and deployment automation
• Exposure to video streaming, PDF/document viewing, or other content delivery platforms
• Experience building gamification features such as quizzes, rewards, or badges
