We're a stealth-mode venture-backed startup building an innovative AI-driven platform for policy professionals Our product helps users navigate complex regulatory, legislative and emerging compliance environments through a voice-driven interface built powered by our cutting-edge semantic search pipeline operating over our immense legislative and regulatory data corpus. Our team's experience spans roles across the White House, State Department, K&S Law, Microsoft and Datadog.


The Role

We're seeking a versatile Full Stack Engineer to help build our core user experience. This is initially a contract position with strong potential for full-time conversion based on performance and project milestones. Ground-floor equity compensation awarded upon contract conversion to FTE. Conversion opportunity contingent on performance evaluation.


Location: San Francisco preferred (relocation to NYC possible later in 2025)


Key Responsibilities

  • Building responsive web interfaces supporting text and voice interactions, graph visualizations, fast search interfaces
  • Translate data generated by our relevance engine into user-centric layouts and visualizations
  • Implement integrated feedback mechanisms to support our learning-to-rank system
  • Strengthen and optimize our real-time audio streaming API
  • Construct user-specific storage and account management 
  • Collaborate with the team on architecture decisions and technical roadmap


Requirements

  • 3+ years of full stack development experience with React SPAs
  • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Extensive experience with PostgreSQL and Pub/Sub technologies (e.g. Redis)
  • Experience implementing authentication and authorization systems
  • History of RESful API development and maintenance on cloud services (GCP preferred)
  • Knowledge of real-time audio processing a plus
  • Track record of building production-quality applications


Nice to Have

  • Experience with voice processing and audio streaming
  • Knowledge of legislative or regulatory data structures
  • Background in UI/UX design and development
  • Experience with embedded AI agents in applications
  • Built with typesense or elasticsearch in the past
  • Firebase authentication and storage
