The Frontend Engineering Manager will help to implement the department's IT engineering strategy. She/He will provide technical leadership and guide the development of best-in-class software solutions for their dedicated SBC business units. She/He is responsible for ensuring the team's service delivery within time, budget and quality and serves as the contact point for all engineering activities for her/his dedicated BUs that require the services of her/his team. She/He will ensure their IT applications/systems are reliable and resolve frequent incidents permantly to reduce downtime for the business.

Qualifications

Years of experience: 10+ years of experience in a similar role in a technology or software development environment.

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies
• Experience with a variety of programming languages such as React JS, React Native
• Strong understanding of Javascript, TypeScript, Node, CSS, DOM, Web and Information Security concepts
• Experience using GraphQL is a plus.
• Extensive experience debugging cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility issues.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, scalable software design, and REST service-based architectures
• Have a passion for clean code – Take pride in creating reusable, easy-to-read, scalable code.
• Have an eye for detail and design.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools such as Scrum and Jira
• Understanding of security principles and experience implementing security controls in a software development environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team of engineers and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
