Our client, a global leader in the heavy engineering industry, is currently seeking a motivated Financial Controller to join their team in Houston. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will oversee financial operations across the US, Mexico, and Canada.
The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a solid background in financial project management within the construction industry in the U.S, and previous experience as an accountant or controller working in a multicultural environment.

Required skills and qualifications
Education
Minimum requirement: a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or another closely related field.
Preferred: Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.
Experience
5+ years of professional accounting experience and controlling with documented history of financial project management.
Hard and soft skills
In-depth understanding of accounting, financial data analysis and business concepts. Soft skills to lead and motivate a team of 3 individuals in the US and one in Mexico.
Organization, math, attention to detail, written and verbal communication (in English, preferred if also in Spanish and/or Italian) interpersonal, ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, self-motivated, problem-solving, financial reporting, Reliability, proficiency with information technology and accounting software (Microsoft Navision preferred).
Availability to limited international travel.
