Role Description
We are hiring our
first in-house Financial Controller as part of our continued growth. Until now, our finance and accounting functions have been handled externally, but as we expand, we are bringing this role in-house to
establish a strong financial foundation and
build a finance team from the ground up.
This is a
full-time, in-office position based in Houston, TX. The Financial Controller will
oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and financial strategy execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and financial operations, transitioning from external to in-house processes
- Prepare and maintain financial statements and journal entries
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor payments (100+ vendors)
- Establish internal financial controls to support scalability
- Handle tax compliance, audits, and regulatory reporting
- Manage fixed assets, depreciation, and general ledger accounting
- Partner with leadership on financial strategy and business growth
- Recruit and build a finance team as the company continues to grow
Qualifications
✅
Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance, or related field
✅ 10
+ years of experience in accounting & financial management
✅ Strong expertise in
GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance
✅ Experience In SaaS Or Technology Companies (preferred)
✅
Experience leading finance functions or transitioning from outsourced to in-house
✅ Strong knowledge of
financial systems, accounting software, and automation tools
✅ Excellent
analytical, organizational, and communication skills
✅
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent (preferred)
✅ Prior experience
building and leading a finance team (preferred)
