Summary

A well-established group of companies, selling a range of services both locally and internaltionally, is searching for a Finance Manager to join their small accounting team. Reporting directly to the COO, the Finance Manager will guide and supervise a small team and take full responsibility for the financial reporting.

The role is based in Malta on a hybrid/remote basis, meaning the standard place of work is Sliema, Malta, but a lot of flexibility will be given to work from home, providing that the person is still productive.


Role & Responsibilities


  • Financial Planning & Analysis incl annual budgets & forecats
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of the Company’s financial reporting
  • Payroll end-to-end in Shireburn – in collaboration with HR
  • General ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Cashflow & Treasury management
  • Oversee the preparation & submittion of VAT returns and tax returns
  • Liaise with external tax advisors for optimization of tax management
  • Analyse financial information, summarize financial status and produce financial reports for Management
  • Ensure the company complies with all the yearly accountancy requirements by the Maltese law
  • Prepare for annual audits and assist auditors with their requirements
  • Analyze, evaluate, enhance & automate processes & procedures


Skills, Education & Experience


  • Degree in accounting or finance required / ACCA qualified / CPA / ACA
  • A minimum of 5-7 years post qualification work experience as an accountant in Malta
  • 2+ years in a managerial role in accounting
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, GAAP and IFRS standards
  • Experience of working with multijurisdictional accounting and inter-company accounts
  • Experienced with managing payroll for Maltese entities
  • Good knowledge of tax accounting
  • Excellent working relationships with relevant Maltese regulatory bodies & authorities
  • Experience in managing year-end audit processes
  • Awareness of business trends
  • Excellent communication skills in English (C1 or C2)
  • Previous experience of working with Xero would be great!
  • Highly computer literate
  • Advanced Excel
  • Analytical and profit-driven


About this role

  • Mainly office based with some remote flexibility
  • Monday – Friday office hours
  • Salary €50-60K

  • Start a.s.a.p. (max 4 weeks notice as urgent role)
