The Role and Responsibilities

The Finance team at Scyne partners with the business and firm leadership, providing advice, reporting and insights that enables our firm to manage financial matters.


The FR&A role requires an experienced finance professional to provide accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis, and insights on financial performance to support informed decision making.


Reporting to the Financial Manager, in this role you will create value by:


Financial Analysis

  • Conduct financial analysis of to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Create financial models and forecasts to support decision-making processes.
  • Evaluate financial opportunities and provide recommendations to management.


Reporting

  • Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to management, under the direction of the FM.
  • Prepare and present regular financial reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting.


Cross Department Collaboration

  • Collaborate across Scyne to understand their financial objectives and challenges.
  • Act as a trusted internal advisor by providing expert financial insights and recommendations.
  • Engage in cross functional meetings to discuss financial performance and strategic goals.


Data Management

  • Collect, organise, and validate financial data from various sources.
  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy in financial systems and databases.
  • Streamline data management processes to enhance efficiency.


Accounts Payable

  • In conjunction with the Accounts Payable Officer, communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and account statements, ensuring all issues are resolved promptly. Assist with handling any communications from the business on AP related inquiries.
  • Assist with reviewing and processing employee expense reports.

Technically, you will bring to the role:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, or a related role.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, financial software).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise effectively.

Recruitment and assessment process

The interview process at Scyne generally involves two to three interviews including a blend of behavioural, technical, and scenario-based questions to assess a candidate's alignment to the role (and other current or future positions), the team, the business, and our values.
