Taylor’s Education Group is embarking on an initiative to make private K-12 education more affordable and accessible to families through the offering of a holistic educational experience at an accessible price point. This new initiative will be part of Taylor's Education Group (TEG) comprising of Taylor’s University, Taylor's College, Garden International School, Australian International School Malaysia, Taylor's International School KL & Puchong, Nexus International School Putrajaya and Nexus International School Singapore.


Role Summary

The Finance & Administration Manager will be instrumental in setting up the financial and administrative backbone of the new campus. This includes establishing financial systems, administrative support structures, and assist in the human resource function. Especially during the setup phase, it would be critical to manage the budgets, assist in recruiting other key staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate must bring strategic thinking and hands-on implementation skills to ensure a smooth launch and long-term sustainability of the school.


Key Expectations

Financial Management

1. Oversight of Financial Operations. Establish and manage all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with Malaysian financial regulations and accounting standards.

2. Accurate Reporting. Prepare and present monthly financial statements and reports to the leadership team. This includes support in preparing ad-hoc reports.

3. Budget Preparation and Monitoring. Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the school principal and other function heads. Subsequently, monitoring expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints, and analyzing variance for monthly management reporting.

4. Accounts Receivable Ageing. Regular review of the ageing report to ensure timely follow up on long overdue accounts and early detection of potential issues.

5. Internal Controls. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the school's assets and ensure the integrity of financial records. This includes ensuring effective policies and procedures are in place and full compliance.

6. Cash Flow. Manage cash flow, including forecasting and monitoring to maintain financial stability.

7. Team Leadership: Mentor and guide the team, fostering a culture of customer-centric excellence and good governance.

8. Teamwork. Developing strong relationships with cross-functional teams and head office teams.

9. Any other tasks as required by the leadership team.


Human Resources

1. Assist in the recruitment and hiring of staff for the campus.

2. Assist in the preparation and processing of the monthly payroll & statutory contributions for all employees.

3. Assist in the maintenance of accurate payroll records and HR data.

4. Ensure compliance to local labor laws & regulations

5. Any other tasks as required by the leadership team.


Administration

1. Supervise day-to-day administrative operations within the office and the campus.

2. Planning and coordinating administrative procedures and systems and devising ways to streamline processes.

3. Monitor inventory of office supplies and the purchasing of new materials.

4. Organize and supervise other office activities

5. Any other tasks as required by the leadership team.


Qualifications & Experience

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.

2. Experience: Proven leadership in finance within the education sector, preferably within K-12 international schools. Strong understanding of international school processes and internal controls.

3. Skills: Strong leadership, high level of honesty and integrity, proficiency in data-driven decision-making, and familiarity with accounting systems.

4. Personal Attributes: Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, cultural sensitivity, and a customer-focused mindset. Experience in international education and familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum

5. Language: Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
